Bagmane Developers Seals ₹40 Crore Branding Deal for DRDO Sports Complex Metro Station

BENGALURU – In a move that further blends corporate identity with urban infrastructure, Bagmane Developers has officially entered into a grant agreement with Namma Metro to co-develop and brand a key transit hub on the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

The Agreement: Beyond Naming Rights

The deal, signed by BMRCL Managing Director Dr. J. Ravishankar and Aditya Bagmane, involves a ₹40 crore financial contribution from the developer. While the primary draw is the 20-year naming rights—transforming the station’s name to “Bagmane DRDO Sports Complex Metro Station”—the partnership goes deeper into the passenger experience:

Financial Milestone: Bagmane has already remitted ₹20 crore (50% of the deal) to the BMRCL.

Aesthetic Enhancement: The developer will fund the enhancement of the station’s interior and external façade, ensuring the architecture aligns with the premium Grade-A aesthetic of the surrounding Bagmane tech parks.

Direct Campus Access: In a separate but related move, Bagmane is investing an additional ₹10 crore each to build direct pedestrian walkways (FOBs) connecting the concourse levels of Seetharamapalya, Bellandur, and ISRO stations directly to their office campuses.

Connectivity & Real Estate Impact

The DRDO Sports Complex station is a critical node on the 19.75-km Blue Line (Phase 2A), which connects Central Silk Board to KR Pura. For property investors and tech tenants, this development is a major “green flag”:

Timeline: The Blue Line is currently slated for commissioning by December 2026.

Micro-Market Boost: This station serves as the primary gateway for Bagmane Tech Park, Bagmane Goldstone, and the Bagmane World Technology Centre, which house global giants like NVIDIA, Samsung, Boeing, and Accenture.

Non-Fare Revenue Strategy: This marks the sixth such “Innovative Financing” agreement for Phase 2A, following similar deals with Prestige Group (Bellandur) and Embassy Group (Kadubeesanahalli).

“This partnership represents a successful grant-based model where private players help shoulder the capital expenditure of public infrastructure in exchange for long-term brand visibility.” — BMRCL Statement.
