Square Yards Secures INR 312 crore Funding, Eyes Unicorn Status

Proptech firm Square Yards has raised $35 million in its latest funding round, positioning itself closer to achieving unicorn status as it prepares for a potential IPO in 2026. The round was led by a mix of existing investors and new institutional backers, reflecting strong confidence in the company’s growth trajectory.

Founded in 2014, Square Yards has evolved into one of the leading integrated real estate and mortgage platforms, operating across multiple countries including India, the UAE, Canada, and Australia. The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its technology stack, enhance AI-driven property solutions, and scale its global presence.

CEO Tanuj Shori stated that the funding will accelerate Square Yards’ mission to digitize the property buying experience and strengthen its ecosystem across real estate, mortgages, and property management. The company has reported consistent revenue growth and profitability in recent quarters, signaling strong fundamentals ahead of its public listing.

With this funding, Square Yards joins a growing list of Indian proptech startups attracting global investor interest, as the sector continues to mature and digitize rapidly.

Founded in 2002, Smilegate gained international recognition through its blockbuster game CrossFire, one of the world’s most-played online first-person shooters. Leveraging its success in gaming, the company expanded into venture capital and startup investments through Smilegate Investment.
